Here’s a short list of popular gay bars and clubs in the USA. There are only active and operational venues included that are famous within the gay community.

The Abbey
The Abbey is a bar and nightclub in West Hollywood, California, that originally opened in 1991 as a gay coffeehouse.

Atlantic House
The Atlantic House (also often called the A-House) in Provincetown, Massachusetts,
on the tip of Cape Cod, is one of the oldest gay-friendly establishments in the United States.

The EndUp
The EndUp was founded in 1973 and is a popular dance club in San Francisco,
California, located on the corner of 6th and Harrison, in the SoMa (South of Market Street) district.

Halo
Halo is a high end gay bar located at 1435 P Street, NW in the Logan Circle neighborhood of
Washington, D.C., it was founded in 2004.

Julius
Julius is a tavern in the New York City Greenwich Village neighborhood at 159 West 10th Street that played an important role in the events leading up to the Stonewall riots.

South Beach
South Beach is an after hours nightclub located in Houston, Texas within the Neartown area which opened in 2002 on the former site of Club Heaven.

Stonewall Inn
The Stonewall Inn, often shortened to Stonewall, is an American bar in New York City and the site of the Stonewall riots of 1969, which are widely considered the start of the modern gay liberation movement. It is located at 51-53 Christopher Street, between West 4th Street and Waverly Place, in Greenwich Village.

Ziegfeld’s/Secrets
Ziegfeld’s/Secrets was a dual bar located at 1345 Half Street SE in Washington, D.C. In 2006 the property was seized by the District of Columbia via eminent domain. Ziegfeld’s/Secrets has reopened at 1824 half street in the southwest warehouse district known as buzzard’s point, a few blocks west of its former location. The new club features once again drag performances and all-nude male dancers.
